Optomap

Optos is the pioneer in ultra-widefield (UWF) retinal imaging that enables eyecare professionals to discover, diagnose, document and treat ocular pathology. Optos' latest technologies combine UWF retinal imaging with integrated Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT). 

At Gardiners, we have the Silverstone. The Silverstone is the most powerful tool yet for examining the retina, it is the only UWF imaging device with optomap guided swept source OCT. It produces a 200° single-capture retinal image of unrivaled clarity in less than half a second and, with just a touch, can capture line and volume scans anywhere on the optomap even in the far periphery. Now with integrated swept source OCT, it facilitates examination of the retina from vitreous through the choroidal-scleral interface. 

OCT 

Optical coherence tomography uses light to give a cross sectional image of the retina - in particular the macula and optic nerve head. This imaging equipment is used in hospitals to detect, diagnose and monitor glaucoma and macular degeneration. 

Field screener 

Your visual field is very important for general navigation and especially important for driving. The visual field screener assesses how complete your visual field is and can also detect disease, such as glaucoma. 

Tonometer 

“The Puff Test” is essential for checking the pressure of your eyes. It is important we check the pressure of the eyes in certain patients as raised pressures could be a cause for headaches or glaucoma.
